Homeschool Coding Academy respects the privacy of parents, guardians, and students who use our website, trial forms, course enrollment process, communications, and related services. This Privacy Statement explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, and what choices families have.

Homeschool Coding Academy is designed for high school students and is intended to be used with parent or guardian involvement. Parents or guardians purchase and enroll students in the course. Students use the course materials, assignments, quizzes, exams, coding exercises, and grade-related tools after enrollment.

This Privacy Statement applies to www.HomeschoolCodingAcademy.com and related Homeschool Coding Academy forms, communications, and parent-facing services. Student course activity may occur through our learning management system provider, currently CodeHS. CodeHS maintains its own privacy policy and data practices.

1. Who We Serve

Homeschool Coding Academy is designed for homeschool families, homeschool co-ops, hybrid schools, university-model schools, private schools, and similar learning programs. Our website and enrollment process are intended for parents and guardians. Students may receive course access, assignment reminders, and educational communications after a parent or guardian enrolls them.

2. Students Under Age 13

​

Homeschool Coding Academy is not intended for students under 13 years old. We do not knowingly enroll or collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without appropriate parent or guardian involvement, we will take reasonable steps to delete or limit that information. Parents or guardians who believe we may have collected information from a child under 13 should contact us at:    support@homeschoolcodingacademy.com

 

3. Information We Collect From Parents or Guardians

We may collect information from parents or guardians when they visit our website, complete a form, sign up for a free trial, enroll a student, contact support, request information, make a payment, or communicate with us. This information may include:

  • Parent or guardian name

  • Parent or guardian email address

  • Phone number

  • Billing information

  • Payment plan or subscription details

  • Homeschool, co-op, school, or partner organization name

  • Discount code or partner organization information

  • Student name

  • Student email address

  • Student grade level

  • Student gender, if collected

  • Student birth date, if collected

  • Expected graduation date

  • Course interest information

  • Free trial signup information

  • Form submissions

  • Support messages

  • Communication preferences

  • Records related to enrollment, payment status, refunds, and subscriptions

We use third-party payment processors, such as Stripe or PayPal. We do not store full credit card numbers on our own systems.

4. Information We Collect From Students

​

After enrollment, students may use course-related systems to access lessons, complete assignments, take quizzes or exams, submit code, and track progress.

Student-related information may include:

  • Student name

  • Student email address or username

  • Account login information

  • Login activity

  • Course progress

  • Video watch activity

  • Quiz scores

  • Exam scores

  • Assignment submissions

  • Coding submissions

  • Automated grading results

  • Course grades

  • Completion records

  • Grade reports

  • Certificates or completion documents

  • Comments, questions, or course communications

 

IP address, browser, device, or technical information used for security, access, or system functionality

Passwords may be stored by the learning platform, but Homeschool Coding Academy administrators do not see student passwords.

5. Grades, Progress, and Academic Records

 

Homeschool Coding Academy collects and uses student course progress, quiz results, exam results, assignment results, coding submissions, completion status, and grades to provide the course, support students, prepare grade reports, and help parents or organizations understand student progress.

Students can generally view their own grades and progress inside the learning platform. Parents may receive periodic progress reports by email. Homeschool co-ops, private schools, university-model schools, or partner organizations may receive limited enrollment, participation, or final grade information when needed for the student’s enrollment, transcript support, partnership reporting, or program administration.

6. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide the free trial

  • Enroll students in courses

  • Create or support student accounts

  • Send course access instructions

  • Provide lessons, assignments, quizzes, exams, and coding exercises

  • Grade assignments, quizzes, exams, and coding work

  • Track student progress

  • Send progress reports or grade reports

  • Provide support to parents and students

  • Respond to questions and support requests

  • Process payments, subscriptions, refunds, and invoices

  • Manage partner organization discount codes or landing pages

  • Send parent-facing marketing communications

  • Send student educational communications, such as course reminders or assignment reminders

  • Improve our website, course experience, and services

  • Monitor website performance and trial signups

  • Maintain security and prevent misuse

  • Comply with legal, accounting, tax, and business record obligations

 

We do not use student contact information to send promotional marketing messages to students.

7. Automated Grading and AI-Supported Course Tools

​

Homeschool Coding Academy may use software-based and AI-supported tools inside the learning platform to assist with grading, feedback, progress monitoring, quizzes, exams, coding assignments, and course administration. Student code, quiz responses, exam responses, assignment submissions, and other course activity may be processed by these tools to provide grading, feedback, progress tracking, and course functionality. Homeschool Coding Academy does not intend to send student course submissions outside the learning management system for separate AI processing. We do not allow AI tools to train on student content when that option is within our control. Parents may request a manual grade review by contacting support. Manual review may be subject to a review fee, which may be waived if the review changes the student’s letter grade.

8. Payments

​

Payments are processed by third-party payment processors, such as Stripe, PayPal, or similar providers. These providers may collect and process payment information, billing information, payment method details, invoices, refund records, and subscription status.

Homeschool Coding Academy does not store full credit card numbers on its own systems. Payment processors handle payment data under their own privacy and security practices.

9. Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising

​

Our parent-facing website may use cookies, pixels, analytics tools, conversion tracking, advertising tools, and similar technologies. These tools may help us understand website visits, measure trial signups, improve marketing, and show relevant advertising.

These tools may collect information such as:

  • Pages visited

  • Referral source

  • Browser or device information

  • Approximate location

  • IP address

  • Interaction with forms or signup pages

  • Advertising or conversion activity

 

We may use tools such as Wix analytics, Google Analytics, Google Ads tracking, Meta Pixel, email marketing tools, retargeting tools, or partner referral tracking. We do not place advertising pixels or marketing tracking tools inside the student learning management system. Student course activity occurs in the LMS environment, which has its own privacy practices. Users can often limit cookies or tracking through browser settings, device settings, or privacy tools. Some website features may not work properly if cookies are disabled.

10. Marketing Communications

​

Homeschool Coding Academy markets primarily to parents and guardians. We may send parents or guardians:

  • Free trial emails

  • Enrollment information

  • Course updates

  • Promotional messages

  • Discount information

  • Partner organization information

  • Renewal or subscription reminders

  • Support communications

Students may receive educational or course-related messages, such as login instructions, assignment reminders, course notices, or progress-related communications. Students should not receive promotional upsell messages. Parents may unsubscribe from marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in the email or by contacting us at:    support@homeschoolcodingacademy.com  . Transactional, course-related, payment-related, or support-related messages may still be sent when necessary.

11. Text Messages and Phone Communications

​

If a parent or guardian provides a phone number, we may use it to communicate about enrollment, support, payment, course access, trial reminders, or related services.

We do not intend to text students for marketing purposes. If a parent provides a student’s phone number by mistake, the parent should contact us so we can update the information.

12. Sharing Information With Service Providers

​

We may share information with trusted service providers who help us operate our website, process payments, host forms, provide learning management services, send emails, manage support, schedule calls, store records, analyze website performance, or provide other business services.

These providers may include categories such as:

  • Website hosting and website tools

  • Form providers

  • Payment processors

  • Learning management systems

  • Email and marketing platforms

  • Google Workspace or similar productivity tools

  • Calendar or scheduling tools

  • Customer support tools

  • Analytics and advertising tools

  • Security, technical, or administrative service providers

 

We share information with service providers only as reasonably needed to operate our business and provide the course.

13. Sharing Information With Co-ops, Schools, or Partner Organizations

​

If a family enrolls through a homeschool co-op, private school, university-model school, hybrid school, partner organization, discount code, or custom landing page, we may share limited information with that organization.  This may include:

  • Enrollment status

  • Student name

  • Parent or guardian name

  • Participation information

  • Final grade information

  • Completion information

  • Revenue-share or referral reporting

  • Aggregated enrollment or participation counts

 

We try to limit partner sharing to information reasonably needed for program administration, grade reporting, transcript support, partnership reporting, or revenue-share reporting. Parents who do not want student information shared with a partner organization should contact us before enrolling or using a partner discount code.

14. We Do Not Sell Student Personal Information

 

Homeschool Coding Academy does not sell student personal information. We also do not use student course data for advertising or marketing targeting. Our parent-facing website may use advertising and analytics tools that collect website activity, but student learning activity is handled through the learning management system and is not used for parent-facing ad targeting by Homeschool Coding Academy.

15. Public Sharing, Testimonials, and Student Work

​

Students may be able to submit code, assignments, or comments inside the course environment. These submissions are not intended to be publicly available. We do not publish student names, photos, videos, testimonials, projects, or student work for marketing purposes without appropriate permission. We may use parent testimonials or parent comments in marketing materials with permission.

16. Images, Video, Audio, and Live Sessions

​

Homeschool Coding Academy may provide training videos, course videos, and instructional content for enrolled students. We do not currently intend to collect student video uploads, record Zoom sessions with students, capture student voices or faces, or make live class recordings available to other students. If our practices change, we will update this Privacy Statement or provide additional notice where appropriate.

17. Data Retention

​

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably needed to provide our services, maintain records, support families, comply with legal or accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and operate our business. Our general retention practices are:

  • Inactive free trial account information: generally up to 6 months

  • Course records and grade records: generally up to 7 years

  • Assignment submissions and detailed course activity: generally through the school year or as needed for course administration

  • Payment records: retained by payment processors according to their own policies

  • Basic enrollment and final grade records: may be retained as needed for transcript, support, legal, accounting, or family record purposes

 

If a parent requests deletion of a student account, we may delete or deactivate course activity while retaining limited records such as parent name, student name, school year, course name, and final grade where needed for academic recordkeeping, legal, accounting, or business purposes.

 

18. Parent and Student Privacy Requests

Parents or guardians may contact us to request that we:

  • Review personal information

  • Correct inaccurate information

  • Delete account information

  • Request a copy of certain information

  • Withdraw consent where applicable

  • Ask privacy questions

  • Update parent, student, or enrollment information

We may need to verify the identity of the person making the request before providing, changing, or deleting information.

19. Security

 

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. These may include password-protected systems, limited access, trusted service providers, secure payment processors, and reasonable account management practices. No website, learning platform, payment system, or online service can guarantee absolute security. Families should use strong passwords and protect student login credentials.

20. Third-Party Websites and Services

 

Our website or communications may link to third-party websites or services, including payment processors, form providers, learning management systems, scheduling tools, or other platforms. These third parties have their own privacy policies and practices. Homeschool Coding Academy is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites or services. Students currently use CodeHS as the learning management system. CodeHS maintains its own privacy policy and data practices.

21. Users Outside Texas or the United States

​

Homeschool Coding Academy is based in Texas and primarily serves families in the United States. We may receive inquiries or enrollments from families outside Texas or outside the United States, including military or missionary families. If you access our services from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be processed in the United States or by service providers used by Homeschool Coding Academy.

22. Changes to This Privacy Statement

We may update this Privacy Statement from time to time. If we make material changes, we may update the “Last Updated” date and provide additional notice where appropriate. Continued use of our website, forms, or services after an update means the updated Privacy Statement applies going forward.
